Crafting
Wizard101's Crafting system lets players create hundreds of new items - all new hats, jewelry, robes, wands and other equipment. This equipment includes items that span bonuses for multiple schools. They will exist in all combinations, and can enhance spells from your primary school, and any other school's spells that you have learned. You can also craft Furniture and Treasure Cards!
Recipes
Crafting requires recipes. You can purchase your first recipes from Eudora Tangletree in Olde Town. Most quest recipes can be purchased from the character that gives you the quest. Other recipes can be found at shopkeepers throughout the Spiral, and as drops on bosses. Each recipe requires different ingredients - these ingredients are called Reagents.
Each recipe will indicate the type of Crafting Table it requires to complete. Hover over this icon in the Crafting window to see the type of Crafting Table you will need for this recipe.
Crafting
Crafting requires a Crafting Station. You can get your first crafting station by completing quests for Eudora Tangletree in Wizard City Olde Town. When you get your Crafting Station, place it in your Dorm or Castle. If you have an available Crafting Slot, a Recipe and the Reagents required, you can begin crafting!
Additional types of Crafting Stations can be purchased at vendors throughout the Spiral, and you will need different types of Crafting Stations for crafting different types of items.
Crafting Slots & Cooldown Timers
Players have Crafting Slots where items are placed that are in the process of being crafted. Each item crafted takes up 1 Crafting Slot. Crafting slots are awarded through Quests. You can get your first Crafting Slot by doing quests for Eudora Tangletree in Olde Town.
Once an item is created, a Cooldown timer will be started on that Crafting Slot. For each Slot you receive there will be a new timer on your Character Page. If you craft something, the timer on the Character Page will show the cooldown time that you need to wait before that Slot can be used again.

Fishing
Magical Fishing is another amazing hobby you can take part in when you're taking a break from your dueling adventures.
Players who are at least level 7 can speak to Lucky Hookline in the Wizard City Commons. He's easy to spot, he's a Pelican with a fishing pole! He will teach you all you need to know about Fishing and give you the quest "A River Runs Through It".
If you want to fish, you have to go where the fish are! Many areas of the Spiral are populated with fish, and you'll know you're in the right spot when the Fishing Icon appears above your Journal.
Fishing
Fishing is a magical activity in the Spiral, ya know! There are different types of Fishing Spells, including Fish Catching Spells and Fishing Utility Spells that allow you to reveal a fish's school, or even restock the ponds!
When you're near a body of water, you just have to click on a Fish Catching spell to cast a Magical Lure. These magical lures look like orbs and they act as both a lure and a float, drawing nearby fish to it, as well as bobbing up and down when they bite!
If you don't like where your Magical Lure landed, you can click the cancel button and quickly recast the spell again.

Fishing
When the Magical Lure flashes, that means a fish has noticed it and is coming closer to take a bite. As it bites, the orb will rise and fall a bit. The trick is to wait until the lure completely sinks below the water and when it does you're going to want to act fast by either clicking on the spell icon again, or pressing the Space bar once to catch that fish!
If you succeed and catch the fish, you'll see the name and size. Small Fry fish are the tiniest ones, while Whoppers are the biggest. You might also get really lucky and land yourself an Epic fish!
Fish are stored in your Fish Basket. The Angler's Tome displays a record of all the fish you've ever caught.

Some quick notes about Fishing.
- Catching fish consumes a small amount of energy. Energy will also be consumed if the fish gets away.
- Don't get discouraged if you don't catch the first few fish you lure. You'll get better with practice. It's all in the timing. Just watch for the orb to fully submerge before you reel them in.
- Fish have schools, in more than one sense of the word. You have a better chance at catching a Fire School fish with the Fire School Fish lure spells.
- If the fish gets away, it will give you a hint as to its school with the color of the splash: Black for Death, Crimson for Balance, Yellow for Myth, Red for Fire, Blue for Ice, Green for Life, Purple for Storm.
- The fish you see in the ponds are exclusive to you, other people will see their own fish.
- You can scare away your fish by running too close to them.
- Other players and mounts won't get in the way of your fishing view.
- You currently cannot fish in underwater areas.
- There's more than just fish in the lakes and rivers of the Spiral...

What should I do?
You're in a race with other pets and the players controlling those pets. Cheer your pet on to move faster in the race. Cheering costs morale and the moral costs vary by terrain type (ie Water, Clay, Grass, Dirt and Cobblestone). All speed boosts are temporary increases to speed and will fade over time. To regain morale, go through jump and duck obstacles. Failing to jump/duck over an obstacle will remove a speed boost. Barriers reduce speed by a fixed value. Players cannot cheer in Mud, and it will slow you down over time.
When should I jump?
To know when to jump over or under an obstacle in the Derby, we have added Jumppads!
These Jumppads tell you the spot to press the space bar for the best chance of clearing the obstacle ahead!
What are Powers?
Use powers to effect other racers by dropping obstacles, effecting speed, forcing lane changes and so forth. All powers have a cool down before they can be used again. Obstacles dropped through powers (i.e. barriers, oil slicks, etc.) are permanent additions to the track.
What are these Stars!?
Stars provide a number of effects depending on strength which include speed boosts and debuff immunities.
How do I Move?
Space – Jump/Duck
Up Arrow – Cheer
Left/Right Arrow – Lane Change
Down Arrow – Slow Down
Number Keys 1-4 – Activate Respective Power

What is Player vs Player?
Player vs Player (or PvP) is a combat feature where players compete against each other instead of against creatures. Similar to dueling, Player vs Player dueling is a much more in depth method of matching your skills against other players.
Where can I play PvP?The Player vs Player Arena is located in Unicorn way, inside the current dueling arena.
Just look for Diego, he's standing next to the entrance. Inside you will find two pedestals with Scrolls on top.
The Scroll on the right is for Practice Dueling and all players can participate in this.
The Scroll on the left is for Ranked Dueling. These are duels that can earn you Arena Tickets and are only available to Members or with Crowns on a Pay-as-You-Go plan.
